SchoolMap does not collect, store, or process any personal information about visitors. There is no account system, no login required to browse the site, and no forms that collect personal data.
We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or analytics services that identify individual users. Basic server access logs (IP address, page requested, timestamp) may be retained temporarily for security and performance purposes and are not shared with third parties.
All school and district information displayed on SchoolMap comes from publicly available federal and state datasets — primarily the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Common Core of Data and California SBAC assessments. This is government data about institutions, not about individuals.
Maps are rendered using Leaflet.js with map tiles from OpenStreetMap. Accessing the map tiles involves your browser making requests to OpenStreetMap servers; their privacy policy applies to those requests.
